A Few Questions On Root Factors In Hvac Repairs

Publié le 25/10/2015 à 20:11 par shaungqcg

You do not want to avoid the maintenance of your HVAC system. You may not know a lot of about this type of unit. Keep reading for some great tips.

Before calling someone to repair your system, make sure you know what kind of HVAC system you actually have. Get the brand, model name, and if you can you should get the maintenance history out. Then, you'll be ready to tell the contractor what they need to know.

Before you choose someone to do HVAC work, figure out what they need to do for you. Discussing the problem is simplified if you understand what has happened with the unit. Getting an estimate will be even more difficult if you cannot adequately describe the problem. It's a good idea to learn this information in advance.

Cleaning the blades and coils will help the system run better. Before you clean the surface, be sure to turn off the power. Additionally, it's important to clear out leaves and other debris from the outside condenser unit.

Make sure clippings don't get on your outdoor units when your mowing your lawn. Instead, make sure that the grass is shooting in the opposite direction. The same goes for blowing leaves, so always be careful if you are moving debris near your HVAC devices.

Lubricate your condenser yearly if it has oil ports. A rubber or metal cap is typically placed over such ports. Pick out a SAE 20 type of oil because it has no detergent, is lightweight, and you should put around 10 drops in the ports but make it to where they don't get too full.

When it gets cold outside, turn off the outdoor condensers. If you get into temperatures that are less than 60 degrees you need the unit to be shut off so it doesn't get damaged. Your system will work longer for you this way.

A good way to save money with your air conditioning is by installing a programmable thermostat. These can save you around 10 percent on your heating and cooling costs by just turning it back 10 percent to 15 percent for around eight hours each day. Some newer programmable thermostats have computerized controls you can access from your personal computer, laptop or mobile media device.

You should care for your HVAC system so nothing goes wrong with it. When this unit fails, you will be in a lot of trouble. You can lessen the chances of this happening by following through with the advice given here.
